Tick & SEED
A tick is the inscription’s name. In the aelf inscription design, it is associated with the symbol of an NFT-tagged SEED.
Names, supply, and on-chain records
aelf Inscriptions is a project for named inscriptions on the aelf blockchain. An inscription has a tick, a total supply, and a limit per mint. Explore what these fields mean and the terminology used in inscription records.
A tick is the inscription’s name. In the aelf inscription design, it is associated with the symbol of an NFT-tagged SEED.
Total supply defines the overall supply cap. The limit per mint defines the maximum amount for one mint; it is a separate field from total supply.
The chain, tick, related token symbols, and transaction IDs provide context for an inscription’s records. Keep these identifiers together when reading explorer data.
Deployment defines an inscription with a tick and supply parameters. That definition describes the inscription; it does not establish a particular account’s balance.
Issuance refers to issuing the inscription’s tokens for distribution. It is distinct from defining the inscription and from an individual mint.
Minting or inscribing refers to obtaining an amount under the inscription’s distribution rules. The per-mint limit and recorded transaction provide context for that amount.
AElfScan provides public blockchain records. The chain, token symbol, address, and transaction ID help locate the relevant information.
The aelf documentation introduces the network, smart contracts, and token concepts for readers who want more technical detail.
The aelf website provides an introduction to the blockchain and its ecosystem.
